The CI 720 V2 brings BluOS multi-room streaming and two 60 W channels of HybridDigital amplification together in a single module. It drives the speakers of a room directly, without an external amplifier, which simplifies wiring and shortens installation. Each module added to the rack creates one more independent zone.
Its blade shape lets six modules fit into the RM 720 chassis, giving six stereo zones in 3U of height. NAD quotes a 50 % space saving compared with conventional stereo streamers. A thermostat-controlled fan draws cool air in at the front and exhausts it towards the rear.
With the BluOS app, the zone plays streaming services, internet radio and network libraries, up to 24-bit/192 kHz. It is controlled on its own or grouped with the other BluOS players in the house. Drivers for Control4, Crestron, RTI, URC, Roon and Josh.ai make home automation integration easier.
At the back, an RCA analogue input and an optical input take a local source. An RCA subwoofer output, a USB port and an IR input complete the Phoenix speaker terminal block. The network link runs through a Gigabit Ethernet port.
