Built-in Chromecast streaming

The C 338 has Chromecast built-in: just start casting from a compatible app on a phone, tablet or computer to hear music, playlists and podcasts on the system. Spotify Connect controls playback from the Spotify app, and Bluetooth receives music stored on a mobile device. The NAD Remote app controls the amplifier from a tablet or smartphone.

HybridDigital power

Its HybridDigital stage pairs a customised Hypex UcD output stage with a high-efficiency power supply. It delivers 50 W per channel continuous into 8 or 4 ohms and more than 200 W instantaneously, with IHF dynamic power of 210 W into 2 ohms. The sound stays controlled with demanding speakers, and the unit runs cool.

Connections for the whole system

Two optical, two coaxial and two line inputs labelled Streaming and TV take a TV, games console or player. The MM phono input plays records with accurate RIAA equalisation and filters infrasonic noise without touching the bass. A subwoofer output lets you add a sub as the system grows.

Headphone amp and auto standby

A separate headphone amplifier with very low output impedance also drives high-impedance studio headphones. Auto Standby and an ECO standby mode at 0.4 W keep everyday consumption down. The DAC accepts signals up to 24 bit and 192 kHz.
