The C 3030S draws on NAD's early amplifiers: a black faceplate, two illuminated VU meters and the NAD logo in cursive script. These details set a calmer listening mood, where you follow the music with your eyes as well as your ears. At 35.6 cm wide and 12.9 cm high, it fits on a low sideboard as easily as in a dedicated listening room.
The BluOS Controller app gives access to streaming services, internet radio and the music library shared on your network. FLAC, MQA, WAV and AIFF files play at up to 192 kHz and 24 bits, over Wi-Fi 5 or Gigabit Ethernet. With other BluOS devices, music moves from room to room, and the amplifier can also be controlled through Alexa, Siri, Roon or Control4.
The HybridDigital UcD power stage delivers 50 W per channel continuous into 8 or 4 ohms, both channels driven. Dynamic power reaches 120 W into 8 ohms and 250 W into 4 ohms, with peak current above 16 A to follow the attacks and peaks in the music. The sound stays clear and composed at low volume and at high levels alike, across a wide range of loudspeakers.
The HDMI eARC input connects the television directly, and the MM phono input takes a turntable without an external preamplifier. An optical input, a line input and Bluetooth aptX HD reception round out the sources. The subwoofer output, with a switchable fixed 80 Hz high-pass filter on the speakers, pairs small speakers with a subwoofer in a 2.1 setup, while the front headphone jack and the supplied remote handle everyday use.
