The FORUS 4 WALL is the compact on-wall speaker in Argon Audio's FORUS series. It is only 10.3 cm deep, 29 cm high and 21 cm wide, and weighs 3 kg. Hung on the wall, it keeps furniture free in a living room or a home cinema. It is sold individually, so a stereo setup needs two.
A 4-inch paper cone woofer works with a 0.75-inch soft dome tweeter fitted with a neodymium magnet. The crossover separates them at 3000 Hz. Frequency response runs from 60 Hz to 20 kHz at ± 3 dB, with 84 dB sensitivity into 4 ohms.
The wall mount is built into the back: a single screw is enough to hang it, horizontally or vertically. Designed for wall mounting, it needs no particular distance from the wall and can be angled towards the listening position. The lacquered front panel takes magnetically attached front grilles.
In a home cinema, the FORUS 4 WALL works well as a surround or rear speaker, connected to an AV receiver. For stereo, Argon Audio recommends an amplifier of 30 to 80 W, such as its SA1 MK2 and SA2. A subwoofer connected to the amplifier handles the deepest bass. It comes in black, white and walnut, PVC finishes over an MDF cabinet.
