Turntable with a light wood plinth on a low rack

Walnut finish plinth

The Planar 2 receives here a walnut-effect finish, offered in Switzerland under the Swiss Edition name. The plinth measures 447 mm wide by 360 mm deep and 117 mm high, dust cover closed. The whole weighs 5.5 kg.

RB220 tonearm

The RB220 arm adopts Rega's own three-point mounting, with matched bearings that limit vertical and horizontal play. Its fixed geometry avoids alignment adjustments at installation. The float glass platter is belt-driven from a machined pulley.

Phono cartridge seen at three-quarters, diamond visible

Nd3 cartridge supplied

The pack includes an Nd3 moving magnet cartridge, fitted with an elliptical diamond bonded to an aluminium cantilever. Its output voltage of 5 to 6 mV suits any moving magnet phono input and its nominal tracking force is 1.75 g. Rega hand-assembles it around a neodymium magnet.

Cartridge fitting required

The cartridge is supplied with the turntable but is not pre-fitted: it attaches to the arm through the three-point system, without overhang adjustment. The rigid PPS body limits resonances passed to the generator. Rega's lifetime warranty covers manufacturing defects.
