RB880 precision tonearm

Rega fits the Planar 8 with its RB880 arm. The triple-layer glass platter plays the role of a flywheel, driven by an EBLT Reference drive belt fitted as standard. Speeds of 33 1/3 and 45 rpm are selectable.

Planar 8 Swiss Edition turntable and its external power supply

Matched Neo PSU supply

The turntable is supplied with its Neo PSU external power supply, matched at the factory. The case takes up 180 x 50 x 155 mm for 0.6 kg. The Tancast 8 foam core plinth and double brace technology keep the turntable to 4.2 kg, within 420 x 125 x 315 mm with the dust cover in place.

Nude Fine Line diamond

The Apheta 3 cuts its one-piece body from aluminium by CNC machining. The nude Fine Line profile diamond works between 1.9 and 2.0 g of tracking force. A bespoke neodymium magnet and high-specification wiring complete a generator rated at 350 µV. The cartridge is supplied with the turntable but is not pre-fitted to the arm.

Aos MC phono stage

The Aos MC carries over the circuit of the Aura MC preamplifier from the Reference range. Its input loading is chosen between 70, 100, 150 and 400 Ω, with 1000 or 4300 pF of capacitance and two gain settings of 69.3 or 63.5 dB. The factory settings suit the brand's moving coil cartridges. The half-width aluminium case measures 220 x 80 x 330 mm for 2.9 kg and goes into standby automatically.
