RB880 arm and glass platter

The Planar 8 pairs an RB880 precision arm with a triple-layer glass platter that acts as a flywheel. The EBLT Reference drive belt is fitted as standard. Speeds of 33 1/3 and 45 rpm are selectable.

Planar 8 turntable and its external power supply box

Lightened plinth and Neo PSU

The plinth rests on a Tancast 8 foam core, combined with double brace technology. The turntable fits within 420 x 125 x 315 mm with the dust cover in place, for 4.2 kg. The matched Neo PSU power supply, 180 x 50 x 155 mm and 0.6 kg, is supplied with the turntable.

Elliptical diamond and cantilever

The Ania carries an elliptical profile diamond on an aluminium cantilever. Its generator, one of the smallest on the market, brings together a miniature iron cross, high-power neodymium magnets and coils in 0.018 mm wire. It delivers 350 µV for a tracking force of 1.75 to 2.00 g. The cartridge is supplied but is not pre-fitted to the arm.

Rear panel DIP settings

The Fono MC MK4 is a phono stage dedicated to moving coil cartridges. The DIP switches on the rear panel set input loading to 70, 100, 150 or 400 Ω and capacitance to 1000 or 4300 pF. Gain switches from 63.5 to 69.5 dB. The values set at the factory match every moving coil cartridge in the range.
