Skeletal carbon-fibre plinth and titanium tonearm

Carbon plinth, titanium arm

The skeletal plinth combines graphene-impregnated carbon fibre with a Tancast 8 foam core, stiffened by ceramic braces. The RB Titanium arm receives a one-piece vertical bearing and a vertical spindle, both in titanium. The shaft and balance counterweight are made of tungsten. Dust cover included, the whole measures 420 × 115 × 350 mm for 4.65 kg.

Three-belt drive

The central bearing is made of ZTA, an alumina toughened with zirconium oxide. The ceramic platter adopts a complex profile and an improved flywheel effect, with controlled resonance. Three Reference drive belts improve drive stability. The Reference power supply, fully adjustable, occupies a separate case of 218 × 80 × 320 mm for 3 kg.

Boron cantilever

The Aphelion 2 fits a boron rod cantilever and a nude diamond of Fine Line profile. Its tracking force is 1.9 g. The generator delivers a nominal 350 µV into an input loading of 100 Ω, with channel balance to within 10 µV.

Anodised aluminium body of a cartridge, three-quarter view

Miniaturised aluminium generator

The miniature iron cross and its winding rank among the smallest moving coil generators in the world. The wire used measures 0.018 mm and the miniaturised neodymium magnet develops high power. The anodised aluminium body is selected to zero tolerance, for 6 g on the scale. The cartridge is supplied with the turntable but is not pre-fitted to the arm.
