Glass platter of the Planar 8 seen from above

Triple-layer glass platter

The Planar 8 platter stacks three layers of glass and plays the role of a flywheel. A motor turns it through an EBLT Reference drive belt fitted as standard. Two speeds remain selectable, 33 1/3 and 45 rpm.

RB880 arm and double brace

The RB880 precision arm rests on a plinth with a Tancast 8 foam core. Double brace technology links the arm base to the platter bearing. The whole weighs 4.2 kg for 420 x 125 x 315 mm, dust cover in place. The Neo PSU external power supply, factory-matched, is supplied with the turntable.

Nude Vital profile diamond

The Ania Pro pairs a nude diamond of Vital profile with a tapered aluminium cantilever. The cartridge weighs 6 g and works between 1.75 and 2.00 g of tracking force. It is supplied with the turntable, without being pre-fitted to the arm.

Fine wire coils

The coils are wound in 0.018 mm wire around a miniature iron cross. High-power neodymium magnets complete one of the smallest moving coil generators on the market. Nominal output reaches 350 µV, with channel separation of at least 29 dB. The phono stage should present 100 Ω and 1000 pF, gain on the high setting.
