Die-cast aluminium platter

The die-cast aluminium platter measures 305 mm and weighs 850 g with its 2.5 mm rubber mat. It turns on a hardened steel spindle running in a precision brass bushing. Its mass and damping keep resonances from reaching the cartridge.

Belt drive

A DC motor drives the platter through a ground belt, on a suspension that absorbs its vibrations. An optical sensor reads speed at the motor itself and corrects it continuously. Wow and flutter stays under ±0.08 % DIN weighted, at 33, 45 and 78 rpm.

Full automation

The CS 429 starts, lifts the arm at the end of the record and stops on its own; manual operation remains available. The straight balanced aluminium tonearm offers an effective length of 221.5 mm, 19 mm of overhang and continuously adjustable spring antiskating. Tracking force is static, set by counterweight from 0 to 4 g for cartridges weighing 5 to 9 g.

Connections and phono stage

The built-in MM phono stage can be switched off: the RCA output suits a phono input as readily as a line input. The Ortofon 2M Red cartridge is factory-fitted and aligned, on a detachable headshell. MDF plinth on a damped sub-chassis, removable dust cover, 435 x 367 x 145 mm for 6.6 kg.
