Three red, green and blue lasers light the 0.47-inch DLP XPR chip, with up to 3000 lumens. This light source covers more than 100% of the Rec. 2020 colour space and delivers a 4K image of 3840 x 2160 pixels, processed by the Leica Image Optimization (LIO) engine. The Leica Summicron lens projects it in Dolby Vision, HDR10 or HLG, with a dynamic contrast of about 2 million:1.
Placed in front of the wall, where a TV would otherwise stand, the Cine 1 forms a 120-inch image thanks to its 0.25 throw ratio. Leica recommends a wall-mounted ALR screen designed for the Cine 1, available as a 120-inch accessory, and asks for 20 cm of clearance at the sides and 15 cm at the back for ventilation.
The Cine 1 has a triple DVB-T2, DVB-C and DVB-S2 tuner with programme guide, a CI+ slot and recording to a USB stick or drive. The VIDAA 6.0 system brings together streaming apps, a web browser, AirPlay and voice control, operated from the aluminium remote with built-in microphone. Two HDMI 2.1 inputs and one HDMI 2.0, one of them eARC, take game consoles and players, with a game mode under 60 ms in 4K at 60 Hz.
The aluminium housing measures 600 x 378 x 149 mm, weighs about 15.1 kg and bears the Leica red dot. An automatic dust cover protects the lens. Sound comes from a 4.0 system of 2 x 25 W that decodes Dolby Atmos, with operating noise below 32 dB(A), and the laser light source is rated for more than 25 000 hours.
