Two iris modules adjust themselves to the light of each scene, across five selectable levels. The TITAN Noir draws a native contrast of 7000:1, measured at f/7.0, from this optical regulation rather than from digitally dimming the light. In a dark film, blacks keep their depth and shadows their detail, without dulling the highlights.
Three red, green and blue lasers illuminate a 0.47-inch DLP chip at 3840 x 2160 pixels. The light source delivers 4800 ISO lumens and covers 110% of the BT.2020 space, according to XGIMI's laboratory measurements. Dolby Vision, HDR10+ and IMAX Enhanced are supported, and so is 3D.
The optical zoom covers a throw ratio of 0.98 to 2.0:1. With lens shift of up to ±130% vertically and ±50% horizontally, the projector can sit on a low cabinet, work in rear projection or go on the ceiling without distorting the image geometry. Autofocus and continuous keystone correction complete the setup, for an image of 40 to 300 inches.
In game mode, latency drops to 1 ms in 1080p at 240 Hz, 2.2 ms at 120 Hz and 3 ms in 4K at 60 Hz. VRR, ALLM and AMD FreeSync certification sync the image to the console, and the Gigabit Ethernet port keeps online matches stable. With no built-in operating system, the TITAN Noir takes its sources through its three HDMI inputs, one of them eARC. Anti-RBE processing limits the DLP rainbow effect over long sessions.
