Heir to the Simply Two

The Simply Italy builds on the strengths of the Simply Two, one of Unison Research's most successful integrated amplifiers, and on what the brand learned from its largest designs. More efficient engineering improves the sound, the reliability and the life of the valves. The chassis is only 26 cm wide, 35 cm deep and 19 cm high, for 15 kg.

Single-ended in Class A

Two EL34 run single-ended in ultralinear mode, in pure Class A with auto-bias, supported by two ECC82 double triodes. This layout delivers about 10 W per channel with a 6 ohm output impedance. It suits efficient loudspeakers, which make the most of the smoothness and detail typical of this kind of output stage.

Cage and feedback

A steel wire cage covers the valves to protect them while keeping them in view. Negative feedback can be set to 5 dB or 1.8 dB, so the match with the loudspeakers can be fine-tuned and the most enjoyable setting kept. Volume can also be adjusted from the infrared remote control.

Inputs and subwoofer output

The rear panel has four RCA line inputs at 47 kΩ and a stereo RCA subwoofer output to extend the bass with an active subwoofer. A USB DAC board can be fitted as an option to connect a computer. Power consumption is 85 W, and the valves are covered by a 3-month warranty.
