Wood and metal integrated

The S6 pairs a rounded black cover with a cherry wood front panel, whose inlays highlight the care that goes into this Italian-made amplifier. Unison Research has refined it over the years to make it one of its most respected integrated amplifiers. The chassis is 35 cm wide, 21 cm high and 49 cm deep, for 25 kg.

Six EL34 in Class A

Each channel uses three EL34 in parallel single-ended, in ultralinear configuration, running in pure Class A. Two ECC83 handle the input stage. The amplifier delivers 35 W per channel with a 6 ohm output impedance and a bandwidth of 20 to 30000 Hz at -1 dB.

Bias adjustable per valve

Bias can be set for each of the six output valves, keeping operation balanced as the valves age. The cherry front panel groups the input selector, the power switch and the volume knob. A remote control is supplied to operate the amplifier from the listening seat.

Five line inputs

The rear panel offers five line inputs at 47 kΩ and a tape output for a recorder. Maximum power consumption is 265 VA, so the amplifier needs a well-ventilated spot. The valves are covered by a 3-month warranty.
