High resolution over USB

The DAC Box S2 + plays PCM files up to 32-bit/768 kHz and DSD up to DSD256 through its asynchronous XMOS USB input. The coaxial and optical inputs accept up to 24-bit/192 kHz. It connects to a computer just as easily as to a TV or a CD transport.

Five digital filters

Five filter characteristics are selected from the front panel, including a proprietary optimum transient filter. Each one adjusts the presentation to your listening preferences. Dynamic range reaches 120 dB and distortion 0.0007% at 1 kHz.

Three digital inputs

The rear panel brings together a USB B input, an RCA coaxial input and a Toslink optical input, plus one pair of RCA outputs. Noise arriving over USB is filtered twice so it does not reach the audio signal. The external 5 V power supply is included.

ESS Sabre ES9038Q2M chip

At the heart of the unit is a 32-bit ESS9038Q2M converter, paired with a proprietary clock design. The internal oscillators are synchronised and jitter goes down to 100 femtoseconds. The four-layer circuit board is gold-plated and the capacitors use organic polymer.
