Cirrus Logic bit-perfect DAC

The second generation of the ZEN Air DAC is built on a Cirrus Logic bit-perfect converter, chosen for its natural character and dynamic reproduction. It processes DSD and DXD streams without degradation and supports PCM up to 384 kHz as well as DSD256. This chip choice brings measurable gains in clarity and reduced distortion compared to the previous generation.

4,4 mm balanced output

The ZEN Air DAC 2 introduces a 4,4 mm balanced headphone output to the Pentaconn standard, previously reserved for the ZEN series. It delivers up to 484 mW under 64 ohms, providing significantly more power reserve than the previous model. Balanced mode reduces noise and crosstalk for a wider and better-separated soundstage.

XBass+ and PowerMatch

Two analog controls adjust listening directly on the front panel. XBass+ is a shelving filter that enhances the bass, useful on open-back headphones or in-ear models that lack low-end weight. PowerMatch adapts the gain level to drive even the most demanding headphones without strain.

Finish and connectivity

A new midnight blue finish and metal front panel give the whole unit a more refined appearance. A dedicated power button, added at users' request, shuts down the system without unplugging cables. The connection is made via USB, with an adjustable line output from 2 V to 3,4 V for connecting active speakers or an amplifier.
