The FiiO BTA30 Pro is a Hi-Fi Bluetooth receiver and transmitter with an ES9038Q2M desktop DAC, featuring optical, coaxial and RCA inputs and outputs.
The BTA30 Pro receives and transmits Bluetooth thanks to the Qualcomm CSR8675 chip and Bluetooth 5.0. It supports the SBC, AAC, aptX, aptX HD and LDAC codecs for reception, and SBC, aptX, aptX LL, aptX HD and LDAC for transmission. An external high-gain antenna extends the range to 30 metres under normal conditions and steadies the link between several rooms.
In transmit mode, the BTA30 Pro connects the digital output of a television, a CD player or a computer to Bluetooth headphones. The priority, low-latency aptX LL format limits the delay between picture and sound for gaming and film. LDAC transmission remains possible from an optical, coaxial or USB input.
In receive mode, the BTA30 Pro adds a Bluetooth input to an existing system or amplifier. The RCA line output delivers up to 3 Vrms and keeps a signal-to-noise ratio of 118 dB with distortion below 0.0008 percent. Dual connection stores two source devices and switches from one to the other.
Without Bluetooth, the BTA30 Pro works as a DAC built around the ESS ES9038Q2M converter: USB-C input up to 384 kHz/32 bits and DSD256, coaxial input up to 384 kHz/24 bits, optical input up to 96 kHz/24 bits. A CT7302 DSP upsamples signals up to 384 kHz. The RGB indicator shows the active codec and the FiiO Control app gives access to the settings.
