Luxsin X9 front view

Desktop DAC and amplifier

The Luxsin X9 is a desktop DAC and headphone amplifier with a preamplifier stage. Digital-to-analogue conversion uses an AKM AK4499EX DAC paired with the AK4191EQ, while USB reception is handled by an XMOS XU316. The chassis is CNC-machined from a solid aluminium block and carries a 4-inch touchscreen for control.

Balanced R2R volume

Volume control relies on a fully balanced R2R circuit, with left/right channel matching rated at 0.1 dB. The whole path, from conversion to the 6120A2 amplification module, stays in a differential balanced configuration. The maker quotes a THD+N of -120.3 dB on the balanced headphone output.

HP-EQ and impedance

HP-EQ applies a hardware correction of the frequency response toward the Harman curve, drawing on a database of more than 2,500 headphone models updated regularly. On connection, the system measures headphone impedance and suggests a suitable output level. A crossfeed mode and soundstage adjustments round out the processing.

Connectivity and outputs

Inputs include USB-B, USB-C, optical, coaxial, HDMI ARC, an analogue RCA input, Bluetooth 5.0 and 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. For headphones, the X9 offers 6.35 mm, 4.4 mm and XLR4 sockets, with output rated up to 6,000 mW per channel into 16 Ω. Preamp XLR, RCA and subwoofer outputs let it feed a wider system. Supported formats reach DSD512 and PCM 768 kHz / 32-bit over USB.
