The Serenade drives headphones in class A. Balanced, it delivers 4000 mW into 32 ohms and 760 mW into 300 ohms. The front panel gathers a 4-pin XLR socket, a 4.4 mm output and a 6.35 mm jack.
A LAN port connects the Serenade to the home network to play music from smartphone or tablet apps. Over this path, it accepts PCM from 44.1 to 768 kHz and DSD up to DSD512. USB reaches 32-bit and 384 kHz, coaxial and optical 192 kHz.
Conversion runs through a Hymalaya Pro R2R DAC designed by Hifiman. Frequency response spans 20 Hz to 20 kHz at ±0.1 dB, with THD+N of 0.0015%. Channel separation reaches -120 dB.
On the source side, the Serenade takes an analogue RCA input, optical, coaxial and USB-B. Its RCA and balanced XLR outputs deliver 2.2 V and 4.5 V to an amplifier. The flat, understated chassis fits easily on a desk.
