The Stream Box E runs on WiiM OS for fast operation and a stable connection. The Pro-Ject Home app detects the unit, guides the Wi-Fi setup and gives access to settings, playback and multiroom management. Tidal Connect, Spotify Connect, Qobuz and many other services are supported.
Connected to an integrated amplifier, it adds Wi-Fi streaming to an existing system. Paired with a power amplifier and passive speakers, it forms a modern system that also accepts analogue sources. Connected straight to active speakers, it allows a minimalist stereo setup.
The gold-plated RCA input accepts an analogue source such as a turntable and shares it across the Pro-Ject multiroom network. This sharing also works with other WiiM products. A 3 Vrms RCA output and an optical S/PDIF output connect to the amplifier.
Dual-band 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi works on 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, and Bluetooth 5.0 accepts the SBC and AAC codecs. The aluminium and metal enclosure protects the electronics and provides effective electromagnetic shielding. The Stream Box E can therefore sit next to the amplifier or even on top of it, with a silver or black front panel.
