The CS1 brings streaming to an existing hi-fi system with no dedicated app to install. AirPlay 2 sends audio from any app on an iPhone, iPad or Mac at CD resolution, while Google Cast takes over at up to 24-bit/96 kHz from compatible apps. Spotify and Tidal subscribers start playback in the service's own app and hand it over to the CS1, and Roon and DLNA round out the list.
On the back, a pair of line-level RCA outputs feeds an integrated amplifier, a preamplifier, a receiver or powered speakers. The optical and coaxial outputs pass the digital signal at up to 24-bit/192 kHz to an AV receiver or an external DAC, and let MQA through to a compatible decoder. A 12 V trigger output on a 3.5 mm mini-jack completes the panel to switch an amplifier on.
The digital section uses a differential architecture built around the Texas Instruments PCM5142 DAC, known for its wide dynamic range, low noise floor and resistance to clock jitter. It handles high-resolution audio up to 24-bit/192 kHz and quotes a frequency response of 20 Hz to 20 kHz within ±0.3 dB. Detail, dynamics and tonal balance are preserved all the way to the amplifier and speakers.
At 14 cm square and 5.5 cm high, the CS1 fits on a cabinet or in a rack next to the rest of the system. It joins the home network over dual-band Wi-Fi or through its Ethernet port, and Bluetooth 5.2 with NFC pairs a smartphone or tablet directly. In network standby it draws just 0.5 W.
