Network Sources and Services

The NSS 333 gives access to Qobuz, Tidal, Spotify Connect, Roon Ready, AirPlay 2, Chromecast, UPNP, and Internet Radio. The connection goes through Ethernet 10/100 Mbit / s or Wi-Fi 802.11ac, whose antenna is housed in the heat sink, the Bluetooth BLE 4.2 coming completing the whole. Multiroom mode synchronizes up to six streamers Naim on the same installation. The application Focal & Naim Provides navigation and control from iOS or Android.

High resolution formats

WAV files are read up to 32 bit / 384 kHz, FLAC, AIFF and ALAC up to 24 bit / 384 kHz, and DSD streams in 64 and 128 FS. Digital processing is entrusted to a 40-bit DSP Sharc floating point. Digital distortion is announced at 0.002% to 0 DBFS and 1 KHz, for a 108 dB signal-to-noise ratio. The digital bandwidth extends from 3 Hz to 27 kHz to -3 dB.

Digital and analog connectivity

Two Toslink optical inputs accept up to 24 bit / 96 kHz, while the RCA and BNC coaxial inputs rise to 24 bit / 192 kHz and manage the DOP 64 FS. A coaxial BNC digital output resumes the signal up to 24 bit / 192 kHz. Analog side, an XLR pair, a RCA pair and a 5-pin DIN plug deliver 2.1 VRMS. Two USB type A ports, in front and back, provide 1.6 A.

Color screen and remote control

A 5.5-inch color screen and four buttons give access to the standby, playback, entries and favorites. The ZigBee RF4CE remote is moving from direct visibility, and a 3.5 mm optical output synchronizes the turnover of a NAP 250 or a NAP 350. The device measures 43.2 × 31.75 × 9.15 cm for 11 kg and consumes 25W in common use. The NPX 300 external power supply remains available in evolution.
