The RS151 has an ESS ES9039PRO converter, clocked by a femto clock, with analogue outputs on XLR or RCA. Its eight channels run on separate circuits, and the digital and analogue stages are physically isolated. HiFi ROSE measures a 131 dB signal-to-noise ratio and 0.0002% distortion on XLR.
The 15.4-inch touchscreen moves to Full HD and shows album art and videos over a wide viewing angle. The eight-core RK3588 processor, with 8 GB of memory and Android 12, keeps browsing smooth in a library that can exceed a million tracks. TIDAL, Qobuz, Apple Music, Spotify Connect and Roon are controlled from the screen or the ROSE Connect app.
The in-house linear power supply uses a toroidal transformer, high-capacity capacitors and ultra-low-noise regulators. It is physically separated from the digital stage, and oxygen-free copper cables feed the power and input/output stages. A 6 A thermal circuit breaker protects the unit against overloads and short circuits.
The RS151 also serves as a DAC for other sources: USB-B up to 768 kHz at 32-bit and DSD512, coaxial and AES/EBU up to 384 kHz, optical up to 192 kHz. The HDMI eARC input takes the television sound at 24-bit/192 kHz, and an analogue line input completes the set. The ROSE DPC module can upsample PCM to DSD512, and the trigger sockets switch on the rest of the system.
