The Link 10n combines a HEOS network player with a full preamplifier, built on a fully balanced architecture with an HDAM stage. The MUSES 72323 electronic volume control with variable gain comes with bass, treble and balance adjustment. HEOS setup runs through a QR code shown on the display, and Google Assistant or Siri take voice commands.
The machined, brushed aluminium front has a large HD colour TFT display with 20 brightness steps, showing the source, track and playback mode. The volume knob and input selector are cut from solid aluminium and run on bearings. A 10 Series universal remote control comes with the unit.
The phono input takes MM and MC cartridges, with the Marantz Musical Premium EQ and a choice of three MC impedances. One RCA and one XLR input handle analogue sources, while two optical inputs, one coaxial and the isolated asynchronous USB-B go through the MMM-Conversion stage. The HDMI ARC socket receives TV sound, and the signal-to-noise ratio reaches 122 dB on line and 88 dB on MM phono.
The RCA and XLR outputs come in fixed and variable versions, and the subwoofer output has an adjustable low-pass filter. The 6.35 mm headphone output, driven by a discrete amplifier, delivers 130 mW into 32 ohms. The aluminium chassis with three copper-plated layers, the copper-plated rear panel and side panels up to 15.8 mm make up a casing 44 cm wide, 47.2 cm deep including the antenna and 19.2 cm high, weighing 33.3 kg. Two finishes are available, Marantz Black and Marantz Champagne.
