Top of the North Collection

The 891 brings together six digital inputs, an HDMI input with ARC and three analogue inputs in a fully balanced chassis. It holds the reference preamplifier position in the range. The colour graphic display measures 5 inches.

MDE-3 conversion

The digital section rests on the MDE-3 conversion technology. Total harmonic distortion plus noise falls to 0.0003 % and the signal-to-noise ratio of the analogue section reaches 125 dB. Crosstalk measures -125 dB.

M-RAY2 volume control

The M-RAY2 volume control acts on the signal without a variable resistor in the audio path. Output impedance stays at 50 ohms whatever the level. Bandwidth extends from 2 Hz to 200 kHz.

MDB damping base

The MDB damping base isolates the electronics from vibration passed on by the furniture. The built-in phono stage accepts moving-magnet and moving-coil cartridges, with four gain settings and four load resistances. The unit weighs 25 kilos.
