The MOON 791 is far more than a preamplifier. It combines a high-end phono stage, a network player and a DAC in one thoroughly modern analogue design.

The 791 brings together six digital inputs, an HDMI input with ARC and three analogue inputs. Conversion rests on the MDE-2 technology and construction stays fully balanced. Analogue input impedance is 22 kilohms.
The phono stage accepts moving-magnet as well as moving-coil cartridges. Gain is set to 40, 54, 60 or 66 dB, capacitance to 0, 100 or 470 picofarads and load resistance to 10, 100, 1000 or 47 000 ohms. This latitude covers almost every cartridge on the market.
The M-VOL3 volume control is the third generation of the brand's electronic gain control. Signal-to-noise ratio of the analogue section reaches 120 dB and total harmonic distortion plus noise 0.0004 %. Output impedance is 50 ohms.
Frequency response covers 2 Hz to 200 kHz at +0 and -3 dB. Crosstalk falls to -125 dB. A 4.3-inch colour graphic display and the BRM-1 remote control complete the set.
