The SET 2 fits the Fat Bob S with a Rega RB880 arm, an MC Cantare cartridge, an aluminium clamp and the Konstant Eins supply. That supply is what separates the SET 2 from the SET 1, as much as the move to moving coil. The deck alone carries none.
The Konstant Eins sits in a solid aluminium case of about one and a half kilos, placed beside the deck. It selects 33 or 45 rpm and lets each speed be trimmed separately. The motor is thus fed a shaped voltage, independent of what arrives at the wall.
The RB880 carries a CAD-drawn tube whose mass distribution was redrawn to cut internal stress and resonance. Its vertical bearing is lightened and its integrated phono cable crosses only a two-part connector. It stands in for the SET 1's RB330 without changing the arm base.
The MC Cantare needs an MC phono input, or a step-up transformer ahead of an MM input, with a loading impedance chosen for it. The deck measures 44 by 38 cm, 18 high, 25 kg, TMD bearing as standard. Loading, tracking force, antiskating and speed are set at our Geneva workshop.
