Transrotor Dark Star Reference set and supply

The SET 1 plus supply

This SET 2 is the SET 1 with the Konstant Eins added. The Rega RB330 arm, the MM Uccello cartridge and the POM clamp are the same; only motor control changes. That is the most measurable difference between the two: speed stability no longer depends on the standard control.

Two speeds, two adjustments

The Konstant Eins selects 33 or 45 rpm and gives each speed its own fine adjustment. It puts out two phases of 18 volts AC, drawing at most 15 VA. The hand-polished solid aluminium case weighs about 1.5 kg.

The doubled base plate

The Reference doubles the lower plane compared with the Dark Star. Transrotor expects quieter running and more available dynamics from it, mass and stiffness working against what rises from the support. The deck is 46 by 34 cm, 22 high, 30 kg.

Set up before it leaves

The Uccello being an MM cartridge, it goes into any standard phono input with no extra stage. Tracking force, antiskating, vertical angle and speed are set in our Geneva workshop. The POM and brass record clamp is part of the delivery.
