Transrotor Dark Star set with separate power supply

The supply added

This SET 2 takes the SET 1 and adds two things: a Rega RB880 arm in place of the RB330, and the Konstant Eins power supply. The MM Uccello cartridge and the POM clamp stay. What moves forward is motor control and arm mechanics, not the pickup itself.

The Konstant Eins

The Konstant Eins puts out two phases of 18 volts AC and selects 33 or 45 rpm, each with its own fine adjustment. The case is hand-polished solid aluminium, about 1.5 kg, 85 mm high and 110 in diameter. Transrotor recommends it explicitly for the Dark Star.

The Rega RB880 arm

The RB880 carries a CAD-drawn tube to cut internal stress and resonance, on a low-mass vertical bearing. Its integrated phono cable uses a two-part connector assembly, cutting the number of contacts on the signal path. Mounting distance 222 mm, as on the RB330.

POM on POM

The clamp is POM like the platter, which stops an interface between two different materials from sending energy back into the record. The deck measures 46 by 34 cm, 17 high, 24 kg. Full setup in our Geneva workshop before delivery.
