Transrotor MAX Nero set with arm and cartridge

The Nero, complete

This set starts from the MAX Nero, the polyoxymethylene version, and adds a Rega RB330 arm, an MM Uccello cartridge, an aluminium clamp and the Konstant Eins supply. The chassis POM absorbs resonance where the light MAX's aluminium spreads it differently. The rest of the mechanics is common to both.

The Rega RB330 arm

The RB330 comes from a 3D CAD and CAM design, with a revised bearing housing and a tube whose mass distribution moves resonances. Effective mass around eleven grams, mounting distance 222 mm, effective length 236.5 mm. The arm clip is built into the body.

Moving-magnet cartridge on the headshell

MM cartridge and phono input

The Uccello is a moving-magnet cartridge: its output goes straight into an MM phono input, with no extra stage. That is what makes this set simple to install on a common integrated amplifier. The stylus can be replaced when the time comes.

Polished aluminium supply beside the deck

Konstant Eins and setup

The Konstant Eins selects 33 or 45 rpm, with separate fine adjustment for each speed, and puts out two phases of 18 volts AC. Its polished aluminium case weighs about 1.5 kg and stands 85 mm high. The set is fitted, aligned and commissioned in our Geneva workshop.
