Eight-centimetre solid aluminium platter

Eight centimetres of aluminium

The platter is eight centimetres thick, in solid aluminium. It is the part that catches the eye, and also the one that carries the whole deck's inertia. The chassis beneath is built on two levels, matched to that mass.

Compact even so

Transrotor puts the question the other way round: how far can a classic deck be pushed while staying compact? The Orion Reference is the answer, at 52 cm each way and 30 high for 40 kg. Compact stays relative, but the footprint did not follow the rise in class.

A contactless drive

The heart of the build is the Free Magnet Drive: nothing touches the platter. Transrotor developed a supply of its own for this system, the Konstant FMD, included with the deck. Two arms can be fitted on the chassis.

Clear acrylic and aluminium

The chassis pairs clear acrylic with aluminium, the clamp is aluminium. Transrotor plans a stand matched to the deck, drawn by the same engineers. It arrives without arm or cartridge, fitted and aligned in our Geneva workshop.
