Transrotor Massimo Nero turntable, three-quarter view

The TMD bearing explained

The TMD bearing is a magnetic coupling. Its lower and upper halves can rotate relative to each other, and three pairs of magnets link them without touching. The motor drives the lower half, which passes the movement to the upper one through that field alone.

Black POM and steel chassis

POM and steel

The chassis pairs polyoxymethylene with steel, the platter is POM, the clamp is steel. Each material damps over a different range, and the assembly leaves no favoured frequency room to settle. The black Konstant EINS power supply is included.

Adjustable arm base and POM platter

Up to four arms

The arm base adjusts continuously and the deck takes up to four arms. That is an unusual capability, aimed at comparative listening or collections mixing mono and stereo. A second motor can be added to the drive.

Thirty-four kilos declared

45 cm wide, 40 deep, 23 high, 34 kg. Mass is this deck's starting point: Transrotor combines it with the bearing's magnets rather than choosing between the two. It arrives without arm or cartridge, fitted and aligned at our Geneva workshop.
