The TD 101 A starts, lifts and returns the arm on its own: one button starts playback, and the deck stops at the end of the record. Its belt drive, run by a regulated DC motor, keeps the platter clear of the motor's vibration. The change between 33 and 45 rpm is electronic.

The 12-inch die-cast aluminium platter turns under a straight aluminium arm, with the Audio-Technica AT 3600L cartridge fitted from the factory. An effective length of 214.5 mm and 19 mm overhang set the playback geometry. Nothing to install: drop the record and play.

A built-in MM phono stage switches on or off. On a line input, the TD 101 A connects to an amplifier or active speakers with no phono input. The switch turns it off as soon as the downstream electronics carry their own.

The TD 101 A ships with a mains adaptor, acrylic dust cover, RCA cable and manual. The chassis measures 420 x 135 x 360 mm at 5.4 kg, in gloss black. Full automation makes it an entry into vinyl with no setup.
