The C 298 relies on Purifi Eigentakt technology, which reduces distortion and noise across the entire audible band. It delivers 185 W per channel into 8 ohms and 340 W into 4 ohms, with distortion below 0.005 %. Fine detail, stereo imaging and dynamic contrasts come through naturally, even at high volume.
The generously sized switch-mode power supply provides 185 W continuous and over 570 W peak for transients. NAD's asymmetrical PowerDrive circuit uses this reserve, with 260 W into 8 ohms, 490 W into 4 ohms and 570 W into 2 ohms of dynamic power. The C 298 stays stable with difficult speakers and accepts any mains voltage from 100 to 240 V.
A switch turns the C 298 into a bridged monoblock delivering 620 W into 8 ohms. You can start with one unit in stereo and add a second later when you upgrade your speakers. Balanced XLR and single-ended RCA inputs, with input level control, suit any preamplifier or processor.
Auto turn-on with selectable threshold and 12 V triggers let the rest of the system control the C 298, even when it is hidden in a cabinet. A line output daisy-chains an extra amplifier on the same channel for more speakers or a subwoofer. The ground lug, IR sockets and detachable mains cord complete the equipment.
