The AMP-F8 delivers 180 W RMS per channel into 8 ohms and 280 W into 4 ohms, in class AB. Each channel rests on three matched pairs of power MOSFETs, able to supply high current into difficult loads. The damping factor exceeds 400 at 8 ohms and 1 kHz, giving the amplifier a firm grip on bass drivers.
An 800 W linear toroidal transformer feeds the left and right channels independently of one another. Twenty-four audio-grade filter capacitors smooth the residual ripple, and a DC blocking circuit completes the arrangement. Signal-to-noise ratio reaches 115 dB A-weighted and total harmonic distortion stays at 0.003 % at 1 kHz.
A rear-panel switch moves the unit from stereo operation to bridged mode, where it becomes a 500 W RMS mono block into 8 ohms. Two units therefore build a pair of monoblocks without changing electronics. Frequency response runs from 10 Hz to 30 kHz within 0.5 dB, at 1 W into 8 ohms.
The AMP-F8 takes one balanced XLR input and one unbalanced RCA input, both at 10 kilohms, which makes it compatible with most preamplifiers and converters. A second switch sets sensitivity between 23 and 29 dB of gain to suit the source. A 12 V trigger input and output synchronise power-up with the rest of the system, and two analogue VU meters follow the level in real time. The machined chassis measures 38.8 × 26.5 × 11.9 cm and weighs 15.9 kg.
