168 W into 8 Ω

At 230 or 120 V, each channel supplies 168 W RMS into 8 Ω and 305 W RMS into 4 Ω, measured at 1 kHz and 0.1% distortion. At 100 W into 8 Ω, total harmonic distortion plus noise stays typically at 0.015%. The gain of the power stage reaches 33.3 dB.

Balanced and unbalanced inputs

The balanced input calls for 1.64 V into 26 kΩ, the unbalanced input 820 mV into 35 kΩ. The choice remains open according to the preamplifier used. Measured at 100 W into 8 Ω unbalanced, bandwidth runs from 15 Hz to 30 kHz at the -0.5 dB points.

Short-circuit and thermal protection

A short-circuit protection watches over the outputs. To this are added a thermal cut-out and a DC protection. An independent MUTE function and a 12 V trigger complete the specification.

Pairing with the Mercury

Rega states compatibility with the Mercury preamplifier as well as with the Aethos amplifier used as a preamplifier. Standby, left to the user's choice, comes on after an hour without signal and brings consumption down to 0.4 W. The unit measures 435 × 140 × 385 mm for 24.8 kg and carries the lifetime warranty.
