The DM8C-SUB reuses the DM8C chassis and replaces the coaxial driver with a single 8-inch woofer. It operates from 45 to 117 Hz at -3 dB, below the full-range ceiling loudspeakers it complements. Radiation is omnidirectional; placement matters less than for a midrange driver.
The subwoofer handles 180 W AES continuous at 8 Ω and reaches 112 dB at 1 m. Paired with four DM3C units set to 12 W each, it delivers the bass foundation that 3-inch ceiling models cannot produce, with no visible enclosure in the room.
Cutout 349 mm, external diameter 409 mm, depth 240 mm, weight 9.8 kg—identical to the DM8C. A ceiling hole sized for one fits the other, simplifying layout when adding bass later.
Three transformer taps—40, 80, and 150 W—place the subwoofer on the 100 V line, with 8 Ω bypass for low impedance. The 150 W tap deliberately exceeds ceiling model taps: bass demands more power for the same perceived level.
