KEF Ci5160REFM-THX in-wall speaker, THX Dominus certified, with 12th-generation Uni-Q and MAT technology. Its four 160 mm bass drivers reach down to 32 Hz, for a sensitivity of 92 dB.

Dominus is the highest level of the THX programme, the one that aims to bring the experience of a public cinema hall into the home. The Ci5160REFM-THX is the first KEF in-wall speaker to earn it. To meet this specification, it reaches 116 dB measured at 1 m and accepts amplifiers from 50 to 500 W.
The 125 mm midrange and the 25 mm tweeter together form the 12th-generation Uni-Q. The tweeter is a vented aluminium dome treated with Metamaterial Absorption Technology, which removes 99 % of unwanted noise according to KEF. Nominal dispersion reaches 150°, which widens the listening area well beyond the central seat.
Four 160 mm drivers handle the bass up to the first crossover point, set at 600 Hz. Bass extends down to 32 Hz at -10 dB, and the response stays within ±6 dB from 40 Hz to 28 kHz in an infinite baffle. The massive, vented motor system was designed to work inside a partition wall.
The cut-out measures 1052 × 209 mm, for a mounting depth of 99 mm from the surface. KEF recommends an enclosure volume of 90 L, with 40 L as a minimum. The outer frame measures 1070 × 230 mm and the whole unit weighs 21.7 kg. Once the grille is fitted, the speaker blends into the room, and KEF's Ci software supports the installation project.
