Bluetooth and infrared combined

The V12 combines a Bluetooth module and an infrared transmitter in one housing and controls Zidoo media players, including the Z9X, Z10, Z1000 and UHD3000. Bluetooth controls the player without aiming, while infrared takes over in direct line of sight, with a long range and a wide angle. To pair it, hold the remote within 30 cm of the player and press the Menu and PG- keys until the indicator blinks.

Motion-sensing backlight

The large keys are backlit, and a motion sensor switches the lighting on as soon as you pick up the remote. You find the right key in a completely dark home cinema without turning the lights back on. Holding the dedicated key for 3 seconds switches the backlight on or off.

Learning from other remotes

A learning area at the top of the remote takes over the infrared commands of another remote, such as the one for the TV or the amplifier. Hold the settings key for 3 seconds until the indicator stays lit, choose the key to programme, then place the two transmitters face to face and press the original key. The indicator stops blinking once the command is stored, and pressing the settings key again closes learning mode.

Size and power supply

The slim housing measures 202 x 45 x 20 mm, and its soft-touch coating gives a secure grip. The V12 runs on 3 AAA batteries, sold separately, and comes on its own.
