The M17 V2i is the surround preamp processor of the Masters Series, decoding Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio. The signal format is detected automatically on the digital inputs, and the decoding best suited to the installation is then applied. Digital-to-analogue conversion relies on high-resolution converters chosen for their linearity.
Dirac Live room correction is built in, with its own calibrated measurement microphone. It corrects both timing errors and the colourations caused by the room. Advanced users get Dirac Live Pro to create their own target curves and use other calibrated microphones.
The M17 V2i provides 11.1 pre-outs on balanced XLR and RCA to drive separate power amplifiers. Its five HDMI inputs handle 4K UHD, HDR, HDCP 2.2, 4:4:4 colour and CEC/ARC. Coaxial and optical digital inputs, 12 V triggers, IR repeaters and an RS-232 port complete the connections for Crestron and Control4 systems.
BluOS is built in: over Ethernet or Wi-Fi it opens up internet radio and services such as Spotify, TIDAL, Deezer and Amazon Music, with MQA decoding. It also makes it easy to add speakers in other rooms. NAD's MDC modular construction lets key modules be upgraded instead of replacing the unit.
