The AV 30 is a home cinema preamplifier processor that handles up to 11.4 channels, with no built-in power stage. Decoding covers Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, Auro-3D, IMAX Enhanced, 360 Reality Audio and MPEG-H, with DTS Neural:X and DTS Virtual:X. Audyssey MultEQ XT32 calibration measures the room with the supplied microphone, and an upgrade to Dirac Live is available as an option.
The seven HDMI inputs accept 8K/60 Hz and 4K/120 Hz at up to 40 Gbps, with HDCP 2.3. Three HDMI outputs, one of them for a zone, serve the TV, a projector and another room, while eARC picks up the TV sound. Dolby Vision, HDR10+, HLG, ALLM and VRR pass through unchanged, and upscaling takes 1080p and 4K sources to 8K.
The multichannel pre-outs come as 11.4 on both RCA and balanced XLR, ready to drive separate power amplifiers. Four independent subwoofer outputs handle the bass, while three DC trigger outputs, the IR flasher input and the Marantz Remote Bus keep the connected components in step. Seven analogue inputs, one of them XLR, and an MM phono input take the stereo sources.
HDAM-SA2 modules, a toroidal transformer and a copper-plated chassis make up the analogue stage, in a current feedback design. The HEOS platform, AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect and Roon Ready handle streaming across three multi-room zones. The metal front has a 2-line FLD display and an OLED porthole, and the casing measures 442 x 394 x 189 mm and weighs 11.1 kg.
