The AV 10 is a home cinema preamplifier processor that handles up to 15.4 channels, with no built-in power stage. Decoding covers Dolby Atmos, DTS:X Pro, Auro-3D, IMAX Enhanced, 360 Reality Audio and MPEG-H, with DTS Neural:X across 15 channels. Audyssey MultEQ XT32 calibration measures the room with the supplied microphone, and an upgrade to Dirac Live is available as an option.
The multichannel pre-outs come as 17.4 on both RCA and balanced XLR, ready to drive separate power amplifiers. Four independent subwoofer outputs handle the bass, and bi-amping is assigned through the pre-outs. Two DC trigger outputs, the IR flasher input and the Marantz Remote Bus switch the connected components on together.
The seven HDMI inputs accept 8K/60 Hz and 4K/120 Hz at up to 40 Gbps, with HDCP 2.3. Three HDMI outputs, one of them for a zone, serve the TV, a projector and another room, while eARC picks up the TV sound. Dolby Vision, HDR10+, HLG, ALLM and VRR pass through unchanged, and upscaling takes 1080p and 4K sources to 8K.
The copper-plated chassis, toroidal transformer, HDAM modules and clock jitter reducer surround the analogue signal. Five analogue inputs, one of them XLR, and an MM phono input take the stereo sources. The HEOS platform, AirPlay 2 and Spotify Connect handle streaming across three multi-room zones. The black casing measures 442 x 480 x 189 mm and weighs 16.8 kg.
