One cable less

The best place for a subwoofer is rarely the place where the cable arrives. The KW1 separates the two questions: a transmitter connects to the amplifier or the speaker, a receiver to the subwoofer, and the link runs at 5.2 or 5.8 GHz. Up to 30 m with no obstacle.

Seventeen milliseconds

A wireless link that delays the bass shifts the whole bottom of the spectrum away from the picture. The KW1 holds latency under 17 ms, below the threshold at which the ear puts the bass back with the rest. The RF selection algorithm changes channel when the band gets busy, without a dropout.

Twenty-four bits

Transmission works at 24 bits and 48 kHz across the whole 10 Hz – 20 kHz band, with a signal-to-noise ratio above 80 dB and typical distortion of −90 dB. Those figures place the link above what a subwoofer actually reproduces: the wireless stage is not the one that limits.

Compatible subwoofers

The kit connects to the KC92 and KC62 subwoofers and to the Kube MIE range, all of which carry the expansion connector it needs. Transmitter and receiver fit in the hand — 21.4 × 72 × 79.5 mm and 27 × 37 × 72 mm — and hide behind the furniture. Power is supplied as 5 V DC.
