Transmitter and receiver

The Airship Direct links a REL Serie S subwoofer to the amplifier or processor without a cable. The kit pairs a transmitter, which takes the signal, with a compact receiver that fits onto the subwoofer. It uses the same wireless protocol as the Airship II, with wide bandwidth, low latency and no signal compression.

Direct connection to the subwoofer

The receiver plugs straight into the dedicated port on the back of the Carbon Special Black Label, S/850, S/550 and 212 Black Label. Unlike the Airship II receiver, it needs no RCA cable and no separate power supply. Setup takes a few minutes, with no small box to hide behind the subwoofer.

Transmitter inputs

The transmitter accepts a high level signal on a Speakon socket, LFE on balanced XLR or RCA, and stereo low level on RCA. It runs on 5 V DC, 500 mA. You keep the high level connection REL integration is known for, without running a cable to the subwoofer.

Pairing and multiple receivers

Pairing the transmitter and receiver takes less than a second with the PAIR button. A single transmitter can serve several receivers, which makes stereo pairs and Line Arrays simpler. The range reaches 10 m with a clear line of sight. The kit is sold individually.
