The Guardian2 X sits between the amplifier and two Amina invisible speakers. The first stage tracks RMS voltage over a short window to head off thermal overload; the second watches for brief peaks that could push the driver past its mechanical limits. Once a threshold is crossed, the signal is attenuated instantly and returns to normal when it is safe again.
Supplied at the lowest threshold, 6.25 W into 4 Ω, the unit is set with internal dip-switches reached by removing four Phillips screws. Three tiers cover the range: 30 W RMS for Edge3i, Mobius3i and Mobius Duali, 50 W for Edge5i, Mobius5i, Mobius5i/S200, Sapphire250 and Sapphire130iB, 75 W for Edge7i, Mobius7i and Sapphire375. A single switch bank sets both channels to the same threshold. Power comes in at 5 V through the supplied micro-USB cable, from a USB port or a PoE splitter.
