The Pre Box S3 brings analogue, digital and wireless sources together in a compact case. It is designed as the control centre of a modern hi-fi system with a turntable, streamer and TV. Its low-noise analogue circuit favours short signal paths.
The Cirrus Logic CS4344 DAC converts digital sources up to 24-bit/192 kHz, with precise internal clocking and separate digital and analogue sections. The TV connects via eARC, and a CD transport via the coaxial or optical inputs. An asynchronous USB-C input and Bluetooth 5.0 with aptX HD complete the list.
Two RCA line inputs and an MM phono input, with 45 dB of gain, take analogue sources. The 6.3 mm headphone output drives headphones from 16 to 600 ohms. Signal-to-noise ratio reaches 120 dB A-weighted, and distortion stays below 0.007%.
A variable RCA output feeds the power amplifier, a fixed 3.5 mm jack output serves a headphone amp or a second zone, and a dedicated output takes the subwoofer. A 12 V trigger and an RS232 port make integration into an installation easier. The case measures 20.6 x 5.5 x 15.3 cm, weighs 1.02 kg and comes in black or silver.
