The M66 hands digital conversion to the ESS Sabre ES9038PRO chip, paired with an ES9822PRO analogue-to-digital converter, for wide dynamic range and very low noise. The Dynamic Digital Headroom circuit, enabled in the BluOS app, removes inter-sample peak clipping during conversion: snare hits gain impact and cymbals stay clean. Volume runs through a precision resistor ladder that keeps the left and right channels matched across the whole range.
The built-in BluOS streamer gives access to more than 20 music services, internet radio and your own libraries, up to 24-bit/192 kHz with full MQA decoding. Music plays in one room or is shared with up to 63 other BluOS devices on the network. AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect and Tidal Connect are supported, as is voice control through Amazon Alexa or Apple Siri.
Full-bandwidth Dirac Live room correction is calibrated with the supplied microphone plugged into the USB port, then the app calculates filters against standing waves and reflections. Dirac Live Bass Control sets each subwoofer independently, in frequency and in time, for even bass across the whole listening area. Four balanced XLR and four unbalanced RCA subwoofer outputs sit on the back panel.
The quiet MM/MC phono stage, with precise RIAA equalisation, filters the infrasonic noise of vinyl without touching the bass. An HDMI eARC input takes the TV sound, alongside two optical, two coaxial and one AES/EBU input, two RCA pairs and one XLR pair. Analogue Direct mode bypasses all digital processing, and the dedicated headphone amplifier also drives high-impedance studio headphones.
