The AMP 30 delivers 200 W per channel into 8 ohms and 400 W into 4 ohms on each of its six channels. With five channels driven at once, every channel still holds 200 W into 8 ohms. It extends the AV 30, a Marantz AV receiver or another AMP 30, AMP 20 or AMP 10 as the speaker count grows.
The chassis is only 111 mm high for 442 mm in width and depth, and weighs 10 kg. It slides into a low cabinet, under the processor or AV receiver. Marantz HDAM technology is paired here with high-efficiency, low-distortion Class D amplification, which draws 300 W in operation and 70 W at idle with no signal.
Connected to a Marantz AV separate with the supplied link cable, the AMP 30 is controlled from the preamplifier. Power and lighting then stay in sync with it. The RS-232C port, IR flasher input, Marantz Remote Bus and DC trigger input and output serve installations run by a home automation system.
Each channel accepts an RCA or a balanced XLR input, chosen with a selector. Bi-Amp mode powers the bass and treble sections of a speaker separately, while BTL mode bridges two channels into a single 400 W channel into 8 ohms. The six outputs use SPKT-1+ terminals, and the Marantz level meter on the front shows the output level.
