Two 3-inch full-range drivers share the midrange and treble, while a 6.5-inch subwoofer handles the bass. The stated response runs from 20 Hz to 20 kHz, and an EQ Boost function works alongside the spatial presentation. At high volume the sound stays balanced, detailed and free of distortion.
The Bluetooth 5.4 link accepts the SBC, AAC, aptX, aptX HD and LC3 codecs. With Bluetooth LE Audio, Auracast connects a single transmitter to several VIBES or other compatible sonoro systems, playing in sync without an internet connection. The full set of LE Audio features will be enabled later through a software update.
The battery lasts up to 16 hours at normal volume, enough for a long day away from a socket. IPX4 certification protects the cabinet against splashing water. A passing shower is no reason to rush it back indoors.
A polyester-yarn fabric covers the cabinet and a powder-coated aluminium handle makes it easy to move: 7.5 kg for a height of 55 cm. The VIBES Remote app for iOS and Android handles playback, the equaliser, power on and off, and pairing several speakers. Designed in Neuss, Germany, the VIBES L is just as much at home in the living room.
