Bass comes from a 79 × 107 mm X-Balanced woofer, while two 46 mm tweeters handle left and right. The ULT POWER SOUND modes, ULT1 and ULT2, change the sound signature. To go further, the 10-band custom equaliser and sound field optimisation are set in the Sound Connect app.
Two paired ULT FIELD 5 units form a stereo pair, and Party Connect links several compatible speakers to the same music. The source arrives over Bluetooth 5.3 with the SBC, AAC and LDAC codecs. A stereo mini-jack input takes a player without Bluetooth.
On battery, the ULT FIELD 5 plays for about 25 h. Its USB Type-C port also charges a smartphone on the go. Charging accepts a USB Power Delivery adapter up to 9 V and 3 A, and the speaker goes into standby after 15 minutes without a signal.
The enclosure is rated IP66 and IP67. A downpour, a powerful water jet or a dip in the pool won't stop it. At 3.3 kg and 320 mm wide, the speaker is carried on the shoulder with the supplied strap.
